Just a few pics. Finally starting bean harvest. Late group 3 beans are slow to finish up still lots of green leaves and pods in many fields yet. Combine prep finished and ready to go. This is a 1988 model the last year for the Titan II machines. Truck and new to me (used) wagon are hitched and ready to go. Truck is a 1978 C-60 For those who questioned my lack of items on the trial run of the drawbar set up. Here it is with single looped safety chain through tongue to 2 clevises. Clevises each have 3/4" pins with lock pins. Wagon tongue is secured with a 1" hitch pin with lock clip. I looked into the self locking type pins but they were too long and would get into the grates when the bed was fully raised. No paint as of yet until I see how well this design works under load. Finally some harvest progress Follow ups. The rock dam works just fine it does not impede the flow of beans into the head but does what it is designed for. I harvested an end that used to be where an old narrow gauge railroad was removed back in the 20's. No matter how many rocks you pick up down there they are still everywhere. The dam did a marvelous job as I could set the platform down to get all the beans and I saw several times where it deflected rocks from being flipped into the head. The wagon tongue also worked great unloading the first load at the elevator. Sure made it nice to pull in and dump without wrestling the bigger wagon around unhooking and the re hooking. Probably small features/improvements to most of you but a couple little things that have made this one man operation go a little smoother during a busy time of year.
