nw MN | I just got done tearing apart and repainting/ completely refurbishing a 12r30" non folding 7000 planter. It is new to me, as soon as I got it home I started tearing into it. It has a pre-computertrac John Deere population monitor with it (pre 1981). I was stringing all of the wires back to the row units, and realized there are 14 3-conductor wires, and one with 2 conductors and a plug (looks like lights). I have all of the rows hooked up, and one wire goes to my distance wheel in the center behind the gearbox. Does anyone know what the mystery 14th wire is for? It is the same as all of the other wires in color code (red, black, green), it has to be for a sensor of some type. One of the settings on the monitor is "shaft" but I cant see any remnants of any shaft sensors anywhere. If someone could remember anything about this old thing that would be excellent. I have never used this planter so I have no idea.
Thanks
