Just thought I'd share a couple of pictures of my industrial 830 since some of you asked about it, only 1 of 81. I've never been a huge fan of 830's but I really like this one, I think it's because it's so different. The fenders have been repainted but I'm not sure about the hood and everything else, you can still see the outline of where the fleet decal was as well as the construction company logo on the flywheel cover, seems too shiny though. It's actually for sale if anyone is interested, it's one of the nicest running 830's I've ever had. I have a video too that I'll get uploaded soon.

Would make a great planter tractor! Nice Looking tractor and can't say I've seen one before. Do you think the split rims on the front are original? Joe

Thanks Joe! Yep, those rims were only used on the industrials.

Yes there is actually, there might even be a little bit more than a regular 830 since the HD front axle is a little bit wider.

Is it pony start or electric? It looks like electric to me cuz I don't think I saw a pony motor anywhere.

Weren't all the X30s electric start? I thought that was one of the model changes over the X20s?

There was still a choice of pony or 24V electric start in the 30 series diesels.

Ron, when the 30 series came everyone was so tired of messing with pony motors that pretty much everyone except for the Candians quit buying pony start tractors. Most of the 730 standards and 830 sold in Canada had pony motors since they would be starting them under more extreme conditions then in the US. It's actually pretty rare to even pull a 30 series tractor out of Canada that doesn't have a pony motor. The electric start was also offer on late 720 "black dash" tractors but I think there was only around 700 of those made.

Electric start so it's a little less desiable than the pony start 830I of which only 45 were make.

Thanks! It's a 9220, should make a nice graincart/planter tractor. Still have the 4850 so we can plant corn and beans at the same time. It's almost to 10k and I think it will be around for a while yet.

Polks sold a pretty junky one this winter for 14,500 so I'd have to get at least around 20k for this one.

Love those old 80's, 820's and 830's. That is quite a remarkable tractor. Thanks for posting those pics.

Something interesting that you guys might like.

I called the construction company that used to own it years ago. (you could just barley read their name and number on the flywheel cover) They bought it on an auction when they were first starting starting out and then completely rebuilt it from one end to the other. Times changed and they sold it around 20 years ago. I guess about 8 years ago it came up for auction and they've been trying to buy it back ever since. Kinda neat I guess, you actually actually still read the oil changes written in pencil on the dash.
