That Trailer has been in need of a paint job for a long time so I had it sand blasted. Then I sanded it with 100 grit then painted. I think it turned out good considering it was my try at doing a quality job. Theirs one of a lister my dad painted. Also he had a well drilled on some drip so far its looking like it might be a good well. I'm trying to keep some water on some wheat. Somebody posted a pic yesterday of the sand blowing thought Ide share one from my area. Thanks for looking!

Thanks Ryan. Are those Roll-a-cone rodweeder shanks?

Also, is this a gravity wagon with an auger in the pic, or?.........

Close! They are markers that came off that lister. http://www.roll-a-cone.com/row_markers.htm I bet I could make you a great deal on them ;) That is a gravity wagon my dad built that was used to haul peanuts but has since had an ez trail auger and wet kit added for use as a seed tender for wheat and rye. He built quite a few of those but they were twice as long two compartments and expanded metal. That was before dump carts really took off in the early 90s.

It holds 500 and that would be about perfect for a good size smoker. Maybe in another 20 years it will finally be worn out and my son can make a cooker out of it. The one with the pivot is heading in that direction just as quick as I can get there darn droughts keep messing stuff up lol. The other one is dryland (neighbors) Takes a perfect year to get no till going. We have to have cover constantly for no till to work here.

006 is a little  "exotic'  but the rest looked very familiar.

And i recall walking through the external door of Dallas/Ft Worth airport in mid July, and thinking............... "yep....this feels just like Adelaide in February,"

East central Iowa

You can tell it's not Iowa from the speed limit sign.  A 2 lane road at 70?  We don't even let you drive that fast on our 4 lanes.

Blooming where I am planted!

The trailer looks great!  Sure looks dry out there, I thought we had it bad in KS.  I wish lots of water in your near future.

I always like pictures of your area. Kinda reminds me of here. High, dry and flat. You are substantially warmer, at least in the winter though. I could handle that. ;) Did you get a paint gun for Christmas? How did you prep the trailer?

The pictures of dirt blowing are all to familiar. Believe it or not, the fields where winter wheat was planted for cover are the worst here. Ground that was worked and left rough is still holding, but anything that was worked down enough to drill grain into is blowing. Too dry and too cold for the wheat to ever get ahead before it gets blown out. Sometimes there is nothing you can do.

I had it sand blasted then set it up on blocks and sanded the whole thing down with 100 grit to get it smooth but rough enough the paint would stick. Wiped it down a dozen times with xylene. Then primed with red oxide and painted with enamel I believe. My dad is the paint expert. It was his gun its a binks 2100? Did a great job. That place I'm watering with a pivot has wheat barely up if it could ever catch a break it would get up and hold it. It seems like we get a little moisture it perks up and gets blown out and starts over.

Nice paint job, looks really good.

How do you like your T and L pivot? I am considering putting one up. My one neighbour just put up a Valley and my other neighbour just put up a T and L. I was wanting your opinion on them.

Don't do it!! We have 6 and hate them with a passion. You will work on them constantly. You will never change a gear box, but you will replace every other part. They are constantly out of line, leaking, dripping, low on oil, oil to cold, oil to hot, stopped up filter, busted hose, bad motor. As soon as I can afford it I will convert them to valleys. Nobody makes a conversion for valleys to t and ls. There have been several discussions of this on here before

sand blowing? Where? That little bit on those last few pictures? I was driving to town today for parts and could not see 30 ft in front of my pickup in places. Could not see the neighbors house all afternoon and it's less then a ½ mile from ours. They had a lot of peanuts, deep broke and planted it all flat in wheat. Late too and there's just no way you can do that and hold it this time of year. Don't know what they were thinking.

Great paint job!

Very little. I think a lot that looks good now will be cut for hay. Our early planted looks good but it's going to get a shot of rup here real soon to stop it from sucking the ,moisture out so we can plant cotton on it.
