Took my iPad with me while Teresa was shopping today. It was my first time connecting on wifi with it. Everything worked fine fired up Netflix and was watching a movie. After about an hour the wifi switched off and would not reconnect. I am assuming they don't want folks camping on their wifi. Before I could investigate further Teresa called and needed me to pick her up. Anyone else ever experience this? Is there a way to reset the iPad so the wifi doesn't recognize it and will let me continue. Thought about dumping the cache but before I could figure out how I had to leave. TIA, Ray

Eastern Ontario | I know that some places place a time limit on internet usage. I've seen this in hotels. Not sure about Wendy's

SE Ia | I'd tend to agree with you. Wireless routers are likely to have a limited number of leases. If you don't limit the lease time they will fill up and no new users can log on. Most routers consumers buy are limited to less users than in a 255.255.255.0 subnet. A lot of linksys around 60, airport extremes around 200 as I recall. http://www.oceanwave.com/technical-resources/network-admin/ip.html If you were using a laptop a simple restart might have gotten you back on the network. I am a bit surprised you couldn't just rejoin.

Southeast South Dakota | every high school student in my town got an ipad..... mu daughter brings hers home and connects to our access point - but once in a while the ipad will freeze... and then it say no wifi exists, or it won't connect..... sometimes telling it to use a different static ip address helps, but other times it doesn't work again sometimes rebooting the ipad helps, but sometimes it won't connect until the next day when everything has been off and it is in a better mood all this time other laptops are using the wifi just fine

Lancaster, OH | I travel A LOT spending 2-3 nights a week in a hotel for much of the year. I've never been cut off at a Hampton. It will get slower during peak times, though.

central - east central Minnesota - | Wife couldn't get on at Barns & Noble's book store . . . . they are suposed to have enough capicity for lots and lots and lots of users . . . . the Nook specialist at the store figured the system was maxed out . . . a minute later she connected . . .

Me either - on my iPhone that uses the same OS. This sounds more like an issue with the router than anything. I had a lot of strange issues with my cheap Linksys router too before I trashed it and got a good one.
