NC Iowa | What are my best(easy, least expensive, and reliable) options to make my MX 245 autosteer? Currently strip-till with 12 row machine and 12 row planter so looking at either 2-4" or RTK, not sure what I need? Tractor is guidance ready.

Cheapest and easiest would be a FM-750 unlocked to RTK and a Nav 2. FM 750 - $2995 Unlocks - $4000 Nav 2 for Case IH - $5000 Then you would either need a radio or a modem depending on how you wanted to get the RTK signal. About $2000 for either one.

Clatonia, NE | Do you want to do anything else with the monitor? Just a word of advice, you get what you pay for and buy from a company that will service the product. The 750 is a good system, but expandability is limited--don't put yourself in a situation where you buy something and then wish you would have gotten something else because it won't do what you want it to do.

Email me and I will quote you some systems. I agree with Lightning. Look at all your options and what you want to do in the future. Cheaper now, may bite you later.

I could be wrong but I was told by my dealer that even though the fm-750 is case ih branded it is still all trimble software meaning it would need a trimble flashed nav 2 - which in turn would not talk to a guidance ready mx245 (since it would have a case ih accuguide kit rather than a trimble autopilot kit) I think (again and I could be wrong) that your only option for a display that would work with your guidance ready tractor would be a pro600/700. I'd check out the classifides section here. there are a lot of used navs and gps recievers and even some pro 600's that come up for sale a lot under list price that still work perfectly fine.

roaming | You could put a 750 and Trimble-branded NavII on with no problems, but you would still need a Pro 600/700 if you wanted to do things like end-of-row sequences, performance monitoring, hydraulic remote programming, etc.

slippery rock pa | Go with a Fmx, i have 2. 1 in a 245 and 1 in a guidance ready 305. Also have a 750 in a 140 and there is no comparison to what you can do

NC Iowa | Would an EZ-Guide 500 with Omnistar unlock work to auto steer my MX? Thanks for the help.

Oswald No-Till Farm Cleghorn, IA | I have a 2010 AFS (AP ready) Magnum 215. Tom N. put the 750 and hybrid harness and NavII in it. For the most part, I am very pleased with the unit and how the tractor drove. There are two problems. 1- Having "auto steering" more accurate than the EZ Steer I was running in my MX210, Omni XP issues (line movement) are pointing me more and more towards RTK. 2- The unresolved issue with "noise" on AM Radio from the harness coming out of B Port on the 750. Once you go Auto Pilot, you won't want to go back. Edited by notilltom 5/23/2011 01:34
