Breckinridge County, Kentucky | we have a 1050 disc mower and have broken something inside the cover, 3 disc's turn fine and the other don't move an inch, but you can move the other 3 fine, was wondering, is there some type of pin or something that seperates the 3 from the other 3 disc? thanks for the help justin

Penobsquis, New Brunswick, Canada | you broke teeth off an intermediary gear. between each disc there are 3 or 4 other gears. bar has to be removed and opened up. or if it is a double drive, the top drive is disconnected left from right. this is actually a PZ Falazet. lots of work. have someone/you that really pays attention to detail , fix it. southeastern ohio | I used to have a 1040 which I think is one size smaller than yours. I had a blade bend down an d notch a hole in the top cover ( they are put together like a clam shell). It can be done but not easy to get a part, get a service manual or what I found was a parts breakdown, it helps in knowing where things come apart. The biggest trouble I had was all the counter sunk hex head bolts that hold it together, the hex would round out and you were done, either had to drill out, ez out or drill bigger size. And don't do like me and take apart and wait 5 months before getting around to putting it back together, you forget where things go. Tim

Nwmo | We burnt the small drive gear out of are's and have broken the bars in half before. There is a hex shaft that travels between each pod in the spacer, most likely you have twisted that shaft in two pieces. Make sure your parts guy is aware that the shafts are not all the same. I think 2 of them are longer than the others. Its a pain in the butt to fix but for us it wasn't worth paying the $70/hr shop rate the dealer charges to tear into it. Good Luck Devin F
