Subject: Burning Brush

Nevada, Iowa
This isn't machinery but this page gets a lot of traffic. I need to cut some brush and would like to burn it as soon as possible. It's mostly mulberry and I can pack it pretty tight with a loader tractor. An old timer told me years ago that green brush will burn pretty well if it is torched very shortly after it's cut, I have never tried this. Dad always thought that if you tried to burn it too soon it would never burn well. Was wondering if anyone here has had experience doing that. I don't want to screw up and create something that will never dry out cause I just scorched it now. Opinions please?
