ND | Bought a used bale king 5100 bale processor last year. ive put about 200 bales through it so far. mainly wheat straw and grass hay. all to together it has less that 1000 bales. really nice shape. problem is, it kinda sucks. seems like its pretty slow. especially in grass or grass alfalfa hay. seems like the other brands that i watch online are alot faster. we feed mostly through the vertical mixer. couldn't imagine using this for all our hay.
Is this just how they are? I did read some stuff online that said to stay away from the bale kings. seems like i have to rock it back and forth alot to get the bale to feed. every once in awhile the bale will roll nicely and feed well. seems like the left roller stalls out easily. I think thats just cause the hay gets wedged in there easily. maybe the hydraulic motor is weak though. the rollers both spin the same direction. was wondering if it would work better if they spun the opposite direction from each other. does seem to work better when the machine is leaning to the right, we have lots of hills.
any help or thoughts? the previous owner traded it for a haybuster. maybe that shoulda been my warning lol | |
