Alma NE | Getting that time of year again where we will start a high moisture corn pile
This year we are going to cut our milo high moisture and put it in the silo too.
We were told that a hammer mill would be slow as the screen holes are tiny so instead of spending the money for a screen to try it
we fount this old roller mill out in a junk pile its a Kewanee its pretty small but the price was right
We worked on it a little bit too free it up and got it too run
I have been grinding dry corn as we have used up all the high moisture feed from last years harvest
heres a few pics of the stuff
As you can see in the pics of the grain that the hammer mill lets quite a lot of whole kernels through when its dry like this
