Central ND | Couldn't help myself today, this was almost free, $125. Tried it out on some pork chops tonight, family was very happy. Still had a pretty good coal bed, and it didn't come with the thermometer, so after supper I drilled a hole and borrowed the one from our little Weber and now I'm playing a bit.
Boy, these things are finicky to get the temp to stay consistent. Any tips besides the obvious of not opening the lid unless necessary to check/flip? It appears you need to leave the side door on the fire box open until you get it up to temp? I have a couple charcoal chimneys because I use our big Weber kettle all the time. Any other tips from you purists out there that have no desire to have a pellet grill?
