Chilliwack, British Columbia | we are in the process of moving our calf hutches to a more permanent location ( hopefully) and are wondering what to do for a base underneath of them. we currently have them on wood slats, but they are breaking down fast. want to put them back on the ground, but with 60" + of rain every year it is hard to find something that drains well.
we are thinking 6" clear gravel for the bottom, but not sure what else to put on top of that to keep the sawdust up and make it easy to clean. maybe some sort of geo-textile material? not sure what is available that may suit my needs.
look forward to any comments,
