Does a strong futures cattle market a good indicator today that cattle will be higher in that future market month?

N FLA		No. It's the price that buyers and sellers agree on today, for future delivery.

Then why do guys use, say, October board in their breakevens and projections for buying cattle today, just for example

N FLA		Because that is the price they agree to sell the cattle for in October, today.
