NC Iowa | Sandy and I were never into dancing too much. maybe if there was a waltz at a wedding dance, but never just went out to night spots. it always looked nice and romantic, but i wasn't brought up that way, and was pretty self conscious of looking clumsy. the fall of 2022, doctors said probably wouldn't live to see spring of 2023.
we were going to have a family gathering then and it was during corn harvest of 2022. there was highs winds and threatening weather that day, so we moved into the machine shed. After the meal, I put on some music. Eric Clapton's 'wonderful tonight ', which is a favorite of mine. We danced in the shed, and I whispered the words in Sandy's ear while we danced. I really did bring out the 'love lights in her eyes', and for that i will be forever grateful, that i could bring her such happiness.
Unbeknownst to me, my daughters friend photographed the moment. I seen these pictures for the first time a few weeks ago. He captured the moment perfectly. i was still in my work clothes, and we were wind blown, but it was just me and my sandy showing our love for each other. I will treasurer these pictures forever.
