Subject: How are the forum threads sorted on index?

I'm used to BB forums sorting threads with the latest replied threads at the top, but the threads here don't follow that at all. How are they sorted? Just trying to find the best way to use the forum.

See picture, towards the bottom you can see last replies are March 6th, then 7th, then 6th, then 7th, then 6th again so obviously not sorted descending by date of last post?

Is there a way to sort latest replied threads at the top?

Edit: Confusing, I just replied to a thread about the new JD and now that thread is showing up on page 3 of the machinery talk forum

On the home “Forums” page at the top right corner of the list of forums, there is a link that says “Posts Active Today”. Click on the and it will take you top a list of all the active posts of each day, with the most recently updated threads at the top.

That doesn't seem to work very good unfortunately. I hate to be the new guy trying to bring about change but I've used enough forums to know AgTalk's current setup is a bit of a broken system...unless maybe its just the skin I'm using (Ocean iirc).

I was offline for a few days and now my "new threads" list is just a hundred threads from the machinery forum only, with no button to go to the next pages. If I want to see any recent activity in the drones thread for example, there is simply no way other than manually checking each threads last reply date.

IMO if any admin reads this, I'm no webmaster but there's got to be an easy setting somewhere to sort forums descending by last post?

I'm not sure about the interface your using but if your on the main forums page there is a link that says "you active threads" and that will show that date of the last post to threads your involved in, not sure if that helps you or not.

Otherwise, I'm afraid you'll just have to get used to how the forum works compared to others.  A lot of posts in the past about this and similar requests to a format change.  You can search them and see the response, but that leads to another forum quirk.  The search feature only goes back a year, using google to search the site directly is the only way to search older post.

The lack of advertising and simplicity of this forum make it kick butt compared to any other forum I've EVER visited.
