Central ND | Figured I'd post some info for guys looking in the future. Scrapers need cylinders rebuilt, new pins and bushings, and some other work. Getting these cylinder pins out was a challenge to say the least. They are 80 mm (3.15") diameter pins with 8" in a pin boss that is 1.5" thick wall, they are fixed in the boss. Started by sledging, did not work. Welded three 1" bolts to the boss to facilitate a push plate. Moved it 4" before the threads gave out. Probably because we were hammering with two 1" Milwaukee impacts. More fabrication resulted in some plates to hold our 55 ton hydraulic jack with the base plate removed. Took all of the 55 tons to get the first one out. Second one went dramatically easier since we didn't hammer on it first.
