PNW | Recently bought a Ford 6610 that the 3 point won’t lower on. It’s stuck in the full up position. It’s an auction “deal” so don’t know much about its history.
The linkage from the lever in the the cab to where it enters the top of the transmission housing seems to be making the right movements and isn’t noticeably loose.
I tried putting a constant downward load on it (a well lubed 3/8” chain binder between the lift arms and the drawbar cranked as tight as I could without a cheater) to see if it would drift down over time but after a few days it hadn’t budged at all. Maybe not enough force?
The small hydraulic sump screen was pretty dirty but the actual oil and filter didn’t look as bad as I expected when I changed them out.
At this point I’m assuming something in the lift circuit is gummed up and not allowing the fluid in the lift cylinder to drain out. However, before i pull the 3 pt. Top cover and dig in, I figured I would see if the collective knowledge here had any input. Anyone have any experience with the three points on these or know of anything else I should try before tearing it open? If I do have to get into it, anything I should watch out for?
