Subject: Deere VRD and John Blue piston pump

West Central MN
New to me planter has a John blue pump powered by a John Deere VRD controlled by vapply on the 20/20. I'm looking at replacing it with a smaller electric pump.

The VRD does not have an encoder and only plugs in with the pwm connector. Would it work in this configuration with other control systems like a Deere rate controller or field IQ? Or is a feedback device required?

Also, what is this motor and pump worth?
