Subject: 1720 row clutches sticking

Nebraska aka the boondocks
After the corn came up last spring I discovered that rows 2-6 on my twelve row were erratic in spacing towards the end of planting. This happened after I shut off rows 1-6 to turn around and overlap planting back the other direction. Following my planting progress, the rows slowly got better and started working correctly one at a time ,until only row four was eratic, even less in the beans.
My Deere planter guy says it’s the controller, since the rows are on different drives, and rows one and two are on the same shut off on the 2630 monitor. The service manager believes the clutches are sticky from rarely being used, seems odd they would all act up at once. Any ideas as we start to address the issue. My notion is to replace any possible culprit since I don’t have a straight answer.
