Brooks, MN | I've been dealing with an issue on my 2011 Case IH Steiger 385 where the HVAC blower will intermittently not work. The issue will typically occur if I've been running the tractor and shut it off midday and I'll find that better than half the time the HVAC blower will not come back on again. There are no ATC error codes. The system seems to recognize changes to fan speed, temp, and function as indicated on the corner post. The air conditioner seems to work and be charged, but without the blower, there is no air movement. I've had it just start working after a couple hours just at random. I've had it start working after opening the door (while running) and shutting it. There is no sure-fire way to get it working again, once it's decided to not turn on, but I've found that typically it works first thing in the morning, and I just don't shutoff the tractor all day and I've been getting by. However, every once in a while, it won't work first thing in the morning either.
I've got it in the shop today and I can't get it to fail (of course) so I've tried a few things:
I've cleaned all of the grounds on the tractor from the strap on the engine to the back of the cab.
I've cleaned the cabin filter outside and the recirculated air filter in the cab (I've done this dozens of times, with no luck.)
For the first time today, I've removed the seat, wiggled wires, cleaned, and dielectric greased all of the connections.
I've unplugged components to see which ones seem to be necessary to run the blower. If I unplug the ATC, I get an error and it won't work. If I unplug the blower itself, no error, but obviously it won't work. I've unplugged the thermistor, the low-pressure switch, the relay and the temperature probe and it still blows with these unplugged.
There is one part that could potentially be my problem. The part is called the HVAC Electrical Connector (Part#: 87306706). This part has two electrical connectors and if I unplug either one, the blower doesn't work. The part has metal "fins" on the bottom, and it's located right next to the in-cab filter. These fins seem to heat up a little if I leave the blower run for a few minutes. Apparently, the air moving through is designed to cool these. Does anyone have any experience with this particular part? Could this be failing intermittently causing the blower not to start, yet continue to run so long as I don't shut off the tractor?
This is a link to the part.

I know that these tractors are notorious for HVAC issues. We have a few of them and in this case it's not the valve that controls the hot water, it's not the compressor pressure or the expansion valve. It's intermittent and it's been tough to pinpoint. If anyone has any insight, I'd appreciate it.
