Subject: Geringhoff northstar

north central Ohio
Looking at updating our case ih 4408 corn head and went and took a look at geringhoff today and had a question about the roll drive vs the case. On our case they use a hex shaft on the roll that goes into the gear box that has wore to the point the knives don’t match coming around causing it to not be near as aggressive as when it was new even though knives are adjusted properly. On a geringhoff it looks like they use a same design but a spline type shaft and wondered how they stay timed as machine gets age on it? Geringoff dealer is talking a lot more acres than what we are getting out of our case head between rebuilds and they are also a case dealer but really like their geringhoff corn heads. The geringhoff is a non chopping head with the non chopping rolls. Mainly want to know how they stay in time as they push 7500 acres plus. Thanks Greg
