Any guesses? Seems equipment is mirroring the auto market. New in short supply and unavailable. Used has jumped ridiculously and is hard to come by. Gut says it gets even worse after harvest before year end. But what goes up must come down. When does the music stop? 6 months or 24 months?

I think the farm equipment market will be high for good equipment and will be in tight supply for at least 2 years. It took 3 to 4 years to get out of the excess supply of lease return equipment and dealer inventory that the industry had.

We don’t have to overproduce we just need the USDA to say we did.

Some stuff is hot, other stuff not so much. If farmers have extra money to spend, it’s going to equipment upgrades.

I was in the market for an 2011-2013 8r, this spring there was about 1000 on tractor house, now there is a couple hundred. Tractors are different than combines, an operation will add an extra tractor before they add an extra combine.

I think there is plenty of supply issues moving forward. When the market is over supplied then we will see a correction.

ETA: I would rather buy off a lot, than sit around and hope a new one gets delivered.

I don't know if its just upgrades...seems like good older tractors pre-emission are selling for more than they have since they were new as well.

We still don’t have a def tractor on the place.

I have been buying older low hour tractors. 2500-3500 hours.

My 6430 gives me way more trouble then the 6400 or 6410 combined. Nicer ride but gets expensive to sit in the seat.

Eventually those are going to run out. I am by no means a fan of emissions. Just hoping the bugs get worked out down the road.

So Hick you have a thread about elec cars but not doing your "part" with emissions Diesels? Or you just brought up elec cars because they could fit in not a eviromeng zealot thing?

Either way I don't have any emissions stuff with. Don't run anything that new.

Emissions problems in tractors are a cash cow for equipment dealers and manufacturers.
Why would they want to perfect it.

I would buy an electronic car if it could ran cheaper then gas, plus they are supposed to have awesome 0-60 times.

I don’t fall for the clean zero emissions bs.

This thread is interesting. Case in point here.... Retirement auction Saturday had a 2011 model 9670 with 300 hr, a 630d that was bought new at the same time, and a 2013 8285r with 670 hr. They brought 192k, 45k, and 210k respectively. Crazy
