Brandon, MS | Anybody ever see a bale fork that had a hitch on it where you could hook up a wagon or a trailer without getting off the tractor?
I'm looking ahead to winter and feeding some rolls. For me that means hauling a few bales up the road about a mile to the cows. I park the wagon by the road, then haul bales (one on the front and one on the back) out in the field to the rings.
I have been doing this with a four wheel wagon. However, this involves getting off the tractor to drop in the pin in the tongue and twist the jack. I think I get off the tractor 10-11 times each time I feed. I'm looking to cut that down if I can.
I know I can do a quick hitch on a spear, but I really like the bale forks. I can't figure out a place or way to put a hitch on the forks where the forks will still go down to the ground, yet will not hit the tongue on what you're pulling.
I can do a wagon or a trailer to haul hay next year. Am I going to have to use a spear, or are there forks that will work with a hitch?
