Subject: Thoughts on Farm Software

I work for a software company that provides software to grain elevators and farm service centers. And as of late have been helping individual farmers with software.

Sitting on the porch drinking coffee this morning, it occurred to me:

Software providers have the wrong motivation for creating their products. It seems to me they want to write the next "big" thing and make a lot of money.

When in fact everyone ( including me) needs to be thinking - how can I create a product that will make the producers live easier so they have more time with their families\God and have more energy to innovate other area's of their businesses.

So when someone tries to sell you something or offer you something - tell them up front - if this is not going to make my life better - move on and don't waste our time.

And this includes anyone who deals with me!!

Why did I write this - to advocate for the people who feed us and care for the largest parts of our planet. And hopefully make me more aware of what I should be doing when dealing with producers.
