Subject: Tru-count clutches on new JD 1770 planter-non CCS w/ prodrive

Dalton, OH

Anybody install these on a new 1770nt non CCS planter yet?  Getting ready to install and not very impressed by the design from Tru-Count.  We have the Prodrives.  So to mount the clutch, you have to drill a large hole with a hole saw through the unit frame and mount the clutch on the outside of the unit.  Doesn't sound too bad until you see how close it is to the transport wheels.  I can see a rock coming around the wheel and snapping off the clutch.  The inside wings have rock guards, but the outside ones don't.  Wonder who pays if that happens?  I doubt its a warranty claim.  I included a pic of how the clutch will look mounted.  Any ideas out there?

Thanks,
