Subject: Little update from Illinois and parts of Iowa

Iowa
Been traveling across both states in the last 2 weeks and Illinois definitely has some tougher looking crops than normal. Is it a train wreck? I dont think it is, But with as much yellowing as Im seeing from windshield touring every week both corn and beans yield potential is hurt. It seems every time I travel down into Illinois I chase out the thunderstorms and rain. Again I dont think its a train wreck but it won't be every field is 250 bushel corn I can tell you that. I seen some corn that's a foot tall 50 miles north of St. Louis. Also seen corn thats just starting to tassel. Its highly variable.

My routes were a little different in Iowa this week and seen some tougher looking crops in Iowa. Like Strawberry point down to elkader area. That area looked pretty tough, washed out and Yellow corn. Cedar Rapids up to Independence Iowa area. Looked pretty tough. Along Hwy 20 east of Waterloo there are areas of yellowing and tough looking crop.

Was also along the Iowa/Minnesota border and the crops are beautiful. Over to I-35 and Beautiful is an understatement. Corn being a little uneven is one thing, but massive holes and drowned out and yellowing. It won't snap out of that.

Overall Iowa and Illinois are a mixed bag. Illinois more so than Iowa. Edit to add I havent been across Northern Illinois much mostly central to southern Illinois.
