Subject: air max fertilizer applicators life expectancy

Doing some research on these Air Max Precision2 dry air flow box machines, everyone says the same thing that maintenance cost is high. We are just looking for a farm machine, few thousand acres a year so nothing crazy so I don't see why a used machine like this wouldn't be sufficient. New spreader boxes are far from cheap.

I know some like spreaders and others like the air machines, to each their own. They both will obviously do a good job when ran correctly.

I see used machines sell for next to nothing, what is considered a lot of hours on these machines, 3000, 5000, 10000? Before your looking at things being very worn out? What are the parts to watch & check on these machines for wear/needing replacement? Any other general information to know about them would be appreciated TIA
