West Union, IOWA FLOLO Farm 52175 | We had the occasion to go to the Indy Corn 250 this weekend.
We stopped and chatted with some fellow NAT'rs on the way down Friday which was a good way to start unwinding...
When we got to the hotel I crashed while everybody else went down to the pool.
Saturday Morning started heading to the track and going to the Pioneer suite, followed up by the Fan walk and stuff in the pits(we had Garage Passes but couldn't go with the Kids....Then we went back to the suite to watch Qualifying and Practices. Late in the afternoon we had the chance to go down for autographs.....Thanks Karen to Karen from Iowa Speedway and Charles --"security Dude at large" we got to meet all the drivers and got autograpks from all them. Then they took BES and Rolan down track side for drivers intro's which got delayed because of track sepage?? Rolan was getting tired so they came back and we went back to the Hotel.
Sunday Morning, we kinda lolly Gagged around... because we had reserved parking *GRIN* We went straight to the hospitality tent and spent the race in the nice shadey breezey tent....Close to the end of the Race we went all the way to the other end of the track to get to our special seats for a Shannon Brown Concert http://www.shannonbrown.com/ we got to sit stage rigth and then got back stage with her. I must say you can tell she is a down home girl and just flat out impressive. Once she came out of her bus after the concert,I truely think she'd spent the rest of the day with Rolan, she had her little boy out their and all..... The only sad new was she will not be attending Rolan's Benifit( for those of you that know Rolan---know he surely invited her) and No Danica either..... |
