Subject: Problem with Nebraska Equipment in Seward Nebraska

SE Nebraska
I will try to make this as short as is can. Back in 2006 they were dealers for McCormick tractors and I purchased a new McCormick CX 95 tractor from them. Has been a good tractor. In 2019 the clutch pack went out and I had Nebraska Equipment replace and spent $10,523 for the repair. Four years latter the clutch pack went out again and they replaced spent $16,995.94. Then comes the problem one year and less than 400 hours it went out again. So I went out to Nebraska Equipment and asked if they would stand behind any of the next repair as they must had maybe either not fixed it correctly the last time. They told me no and if they did the repair I would have to pay for it. I said ok what about trading it in for a new tractor, they informed me the tractor has no value. So I started to ask around about a different place to do the repair. Found a local guy that left a dealership and start out on his own that would work on it. Told me it maybe be a while before able to work on it I said no problem. Well over the past months he started to work on it and now has it all part. In doing so he informed me that there for a couple of washers that were installed in the incorrect order and there were two solenoids that were swapped that caused two clutch packs to engage at the same time and this is why the clutch went out again. This was all done with the help of two other McCormick dealers that help my new repair guy trouble shoot and find the problems. So after this I called back Nebraska Equipment and told them what I found out on the tractor and they said not their problem as I didn’t bring it back to them to work on. I stated that you did not want to work on it and would not stand behind any of the last repair so why would I have brought the tractor back to you. Plus they tried to fix it twice and it did not last both times they fixed it. I guessed I learned a lot about dealers through this and process. I know that I will have another repair bill on this tractor, but I know at least this repairman working on it now is trying to get it fixed and repaired correctly unlike Nebraska Equipment did in the past. I hope in making this post is to inform everyone to think about working with Nebraska Equipment in Seward Nebraska in the future. I know I am not a big customer there in their eyes, but they missed out as I went elsewhere and bought several new tractors.
