Subject: Homemade Roller Stand Pics For Golfnut. (6 Pics)

Sandy Hook, MB

Hello Golfnut

In reply to your thread.
I've used a few of those rollers. I made 5 - 12' sections of adjustable height rollers for use on my sawmill to move the lumber from the takeaway belt to the edger & beyond. On those the rollers are spaced 2' apart I think. I machined a flat spot on the shafts so that they sat on the frame better. I also made 2 single adjustable stands that I use in the shop. I've used them for my band saw, drill press & hydraulic press. I just used 0.100 wall 1" & 1 1/4" tubing for it to telescope for height adjustment. The bases are the ends that I had cut out of some water tanks from another project.

Adjustable single roller stand.

After welding nut, drilled & tapped through tubing for a little more thread.

Base is from a water tank.

Roller.

How I mounted the roller. Didn't have mill when I made these. On the stands for my sawmill, I machined a flat spot on the shafts so that the roller shaft would sit nice on the frames.

That's a 480 lb. piece of 1" x 12" x 12' flat.
