Subject: Dairyman78 made it to TX

Just had to post that Dave (dairyman78) got up early, before 3am yesterday picked up his parents age 87 and 86 and took them to the airport (two hours away) and boarded a plane for TX with them. First time flying down there for the winter, they have been wintering down there for years and years. They were both very apprehensive on flying down there. They haven't flown in years, and FIL isn't able to walk very far so arranged for a wheelchair for him and I think just the fact that MIL couldn't pack the kitchen sink. They were just so use to taking their van and piling everything in there, way more then they need to take. Dave has been driving them down there for years now when his dad could no longer see good enough to drive. They both complained about having to fly, but now that it is over with, they thought it was pretty easy. The trip was always so hard for them. Now the big thing is to get them not to have a car down there and to rely on the taxi that is only a block away.

Are any of you dealing with aging parents that are stubborn? MIL did say they are at the age where they have to do what the kids say now. But doesn't mean they won't fight it. We got through this one, but sure there will be more hurdles along the way.
