North East Wimmera district of Victoria. | I have a Samsung S23 android phone, apart from use as a phone to talk to people, it gets used to do electronic banking. [A worry to some people, but I have not had any problems, I use a fingerprint for access, and no one else has my fingerprint!] Currently the phone has a problem, and I'm not 'tech' enough to figure if it is an electronic problem, or a virus attack! I'll describe what happens as best I can. If I am looking at say a you-tube clip, it suddenly flips to a screen wanting me to "clean junk" - or to download some cleaner or other. but then if I give that permission, it will flip to some other information, or a statement that my phone is 98% full of junk!
I use 'kaspersky' anti virus on my home computer and laptop, and my subscription covers 5 units, but it does not seem to want to load onto my Samsung android, whether it has something to do with the current problem or not I do not know. I'm slack , I know, but had never loaded Kaspersky into my phone, and now in its current state, if I try - it flips to any of the crap I keep seeing. Frustrating to say the least!
So - here's a question! If I can firstly find a "reset" button, would a 'reset' restore factory settings, eliminating the 'problem' that is on my phone at present? I understsnd that I may have to re-instate some things, but I'm OK with that. [To my understanding all my contacts on my sim card would not be affected by a re-set - ?correct!]. IF the problem is electronic - i.e. in the operating system of the phone itself, would I be correct in saying the phone - probably more than 3 years old - should be consigned to the scrapheap!
Thanks in advance to my NAT friends! Aussy Harold
