Can someone explain Crypto money to me like I'm a first grader?

I consider myself of average intelligence. I can Google most things and figure out what something is and how it works.

I get this the when I Google Cryptocurrency:

So, doesn't require a central bank or financial institution to verify .............................. a money with no bank to verify it.

Isn't that the same thing as Monopoly Money?

I think Bitcoin is a big one,  are there others?

How does someone just create your own money?
