Sunflower State | Took my last dip of tobacco Friday night. Left for the lake around 6:30 am Saturday morning. Made it about 80 miles before a blow out on the camper and broken bolts on the receiver made me really want to spit brown juice. Luckily wintergreen lifesavers and the guys at Roth Equipment in Larned KS helped get me going an hour and half later. What happened on that receiver is we crossed a rough bridge and the trailer and van were rocking. Put enough torque on the back bolts to pull them out of the frame. Previously I drilled holes and threaded them, thought that would be enough. The tire blew and the bolts broke pretty much at the same time. Anyway I drilled much bigger holes and put in 1/2" grade 8 nuts and bolts back on. Pretty fortunate the front four bolts held the rest together.
Over all pretty uneventful for the weekend. I did cheat by bumming two cigarillos from my FIL. Bad mistake as I had a horrible headache Monday. I remember now why I never picked up that habit.
Wintergreen lifesavers really seem to help. Get a craving and pop one of those in and am good to go.
3 days and counting.
