Near Intersection of I-35 & I-90 Southern Mn. | Lately I've been getting offers for cheap or free Internet since I'm close to 80 but still live on the farm. I pay $70/month for a local provider. The signal comes from a repeater atop the grain leg at my brother's place. The service is quite good with a few failures from time to time.
I'm curious about these reduced or free plans. Something tells me to just stick with what I've got. Maybe I should contact them about some type of reduced plan for the old?
I have fiber optics to the house on the farm but do not use it since I do not have a landline. I could get Internet through them but I've heard their package essentially forces one to go with a landline and TV service as well. Maybe their package deal would be cheaper than what I'm paying for my current Internet and DISH satellite TV.
Experiences?
