Kansas City, Missouri | I’ve been running a .243 Win for deer hunting, and it’s been a great rifle—flat shooting, light recoil, and it gets the job done. But I’m looking to add another deer rifle to the lineup and wondering… does anyone still use a .308?
With all the better long-range options out there—6.5 Creedmoor, .257 Weatherby, .270 Win, and even some of the newer magnums—it just seems like the .308 is starting to feel outdated.
For those of you still running a .308, what keeps you loyal to it? And for those who’ve moved on, what are you using now? Just trying to figure out what’s worth looking into before I make a decision.
I think I'd buy a 30-06 over a 308 right now. | |
