Subject: a story about Dad

North West IA/western AZ
Written by the son of my cousin.

I only met Cecil a handful of times in my life when I was much younger, but for such a few meetings, his presence in my mind was very large. My main impression of him was that he was a little scary but a lot of fun! It was my first time on a real farm, I was probably only 5 or 6, and Cecil took us around to see all the stuff on the farm - the silos and barns and different animals etc...The last thing he showed us was this huge boar with big tusks, which was kept in a separate pen from all the other pigs. You could tell right away why it was kept all by itself....it was mean! It kept charging the fence, trying to get at us. This was all good stuff for a 5 year old boy. The next thing I knew Cecil leaped into the pen with the boar, I'm pretty sure just to show off a little (he was smiling the whole time) and the boar charged after him straight away. Cecil had to put his foot up to fend it off and the thing bit down on Cecil's boot and wouldn't let go. There was a dramatic tussle, and Cecil finally wrestled his boot out of the boars teeth and gave it a few swift kicks as he jumped the fence to safety. It was awesome! So that was my first and lasting impression of Cecil - a little bit scary but a lot of fun!
