Subject: Youthful fashions & how I treated them

East central Iowa

Below I posted some information and a picture that probably left the impression that I think kids are stupid for their attire.  Just wanted to mention that I'm a dad who spent a lot of time with his sons and gave them either a lot of advice or lectures.  Depends on you point of view.

However I also punched a hole in the upper portion of one sons hear and put in an earring for him.  He wanted one and was reluctant to trust some mall shop.  It was a very painful experience as I punched the hole with a syringe needle and pulled it out.  Then I tried to push the earring through that hole.

The other son wanted to dye his hair and I got him the dye.

My dad was an old man when I was a teen and he did comment a few times on some of the things I did but so darn little in retrospect that I find it amazing.  He put up with an awful lot.  I'm now 64 and that's the age he was when I graduated from high school.  There was an enormous gulf between 17 and 64, especially given that the world had changed more in his life than it has in mine.
