Oregon | Willamette Valley, 2nd year white clover grown for seed. The clover stand is good and healthy. Problem weeds are Select-resistant roughstalk bluegrass and resistant annual ryegrass. Some of the ryegrass is only about an inch tall. It's been a very dry fall here. We've had a couple inches of rain, but the ground isn't really wet yet.
Agronomist's winter recommendation:
- Gramoxone 1.5 pt
- Goal 6 oz
- MCPA Amine 12 oz
- Kerb 48 oz
- Possible 2nd shot of Kerb at 48 oz
Kerb is quoted at $200/gal, so it gets expensive fast.
What I'm considering instead is GCS Imazamide SC (3 lb pronamide + 0.16 lb imazethapyr/gal, labeled for alfalfa and clover): 95$/gal
- Imazamide 53 oz (to match 48 oz Kerb)
- Paraquat 3 lb, 1 pt
- Goal 6 oz
- MCPA Amine 12 oz
Anyone run the Imazamide or another generic pronamide on clover grown for seed? How did it do on roughstalk and ryegrass, and any issues with the Pursuit on the clover? Also, with it this dry, would you wait for more moisture before putting the pronamide on?
What do you guys think?
Side note, I wish there was a better way to get solid recs without overpaying on every product. Maybe AgTalk can be my new agronomist, since I can't afford the one I've got. Half joking.
Also why is Kerb so expensive?
