South Central IA | When I was a youngster I had a go kart that came from Northern Tool. Dad knocked down some beans behind the house (grandpa threw a fit about it) and built me track so I wouldn't kill all the grass in the yard. The best memories of my childhood were made turning laps on that little track. The neighbor kids had an identical cart and occasionally we'd run together but dad said "no racing" (ya right).
FF 30 years.
I have two kids (10, 7) who are obsessed with driving anything they can get their hands on and would love this, and I can swing it so why not? Has anybody done something similar and has pics of the track you built? And/or the karts you ended up with? My track was too flat and really too tight for more than one rig. I'd also like to avoid the open wheel karts like I had. My 7 yo boy (mini me) can't be trusted not to wreck his sister.
Racing in the back yard was a dream of mine. Maximum safety is Mom's disclaimer. Anyone else done this? | |
