Michigan | Massey Ferguson 180 diesel has been leaking hydraulic fluid since last fall but it seems to be getting worse lately. The fluid drips out of a hole where there is what looks like the bottom of a cotter pin hanging out of it. The picture is a little blurry but you can see the bent metal hanging down about three inches in front of where the hydraulic drain plug is. And this pin or whatever it is is loose, I can move it up and down and spin it around. Three questions:
- what is the purpose of the hole forward from the hydraulic drain plug with the bent metal sticking out the bottom of it?
- what would cause hydraulic fluid to leak out of that hole?
- can the leak be fixed without splitting the tractor?
