We had a local politician who is running for the state assembly had a fund raiser at the winery last night. The featured speaker was Wisconsin’s former governor Tommy Thompson who was also U.S. secretary of Health and Human Services. 

As an 82 year old he is still a sharp individual with a good mind. His talk was interesting and informative. He touched on state and national topics and was quite convincing. 

An interesting fact about Tommy is that he has 1700 acres of land that he farms or has farmed. He told me how many acres of each crop he has and how many cattle they have. 
He also has a vineyard that we buy the the grapes from. 


He was asked if he would run for governor again and he didn’t rule it out. 
It was an interesting evening.
