Subject: kids and vegetarianism

near dyersville iowa
I found out during thanksgiving dinner that my 11 year old nephew has declared himself a vegetarian. He kind of made a face when i told him he could no longer eat jello...lol. I tried to figure out how he came to this decision, he told me he had read a book on it. Some guide to being a vegetarian thing. He would not tell me how he got the book..other than it was from the library, and no straight answer to who taught him about it in the first place. I know its not really my place because he isnt my kid, but it really gets to me. Whoever decides to manipulate the mind of a kid like that should be..well..i wont say that here. Btw..his reason for not eating meat was that he didnt want to hurt any animals. Milk is ok because it doesnt hurt the animal...Im at the end of my rope on this one..but i guess im going to have to get used to it, as I think you guys out on the coasts face this way more than i do. So...what do i do? lol more venting than anything.
