Subject: IH 66 series tractors. Pictures.

Farmington IL
This first tractor is a 1975 black stripe 1466 my grandad bought new right here in town. He traded a 1256 off to buy it. It got out of the family for many years but I was able purchase it back from the neighbors that owned it last fall. Took the cab off and did some fixing up then sent it off to be painted about the first of the year. Just got it back and have been putting the finishing touches on it.

This tractor is a black stripe 1976 1066 bought new buy a neighbor from the same dealer. He trade a farmall 450 and 15K boot for it. I purchased this winter as they were no longer using it. It has a fresh overhaul and I just got it home from getting a new clutch, t/a, injectors and injection pump. The serial number puts it 750 from being the last 1066. Going to do a little fixing and send it off to be painted. Going to leave the cab on this one.

I know some people don't like these tractors but growing up on the farm as a young boy I spent countess hours riding, then driving the 14 pictured above, a second 1466 we owned and a 1066 we had all at the same time. If I wasn't in a tractor I wasn't happy! Some things never change. To this day, nothing feels quite the same as sitting behind the wheel of a 66 series IH tractor.
So, it's safe to say I'm looking forward to some seat time in my new tractors.
