| Actually I'm bearish on the post recovery from 3.. or was it 4?? Consecutive dry years in the Southern Plains.. 2021,22,23,24 ish.. which shows up as the worst consecutive yield period in my 45 year career of growing the weeds.. er.. crops.
We have piles again after $1.80 over corn basis in 2023.. now we're option to $0.60 under in locations.. However, it's "been a moment" since we've had a rain.. and we're gonna be pumping water over Christmas.. (might be a first??) No doubt we still have some subsoil.. but my late planted HRW Wheaties.. need to "root in" to reach it.
Maybe/probably it does.. but weak rooted.. no snow cover.. flip to bitter cold.. would "NOT be helpful." Wheat needs to get up off the mat to let Corn prices run.. so.. there ya go..
Am I really concerned? Not yet.. but from someone whose forecast Eight of the past two droughts.. "its tradition." So.. there ya go..
Between Russia vs Ukraine and inflation.. add a drought rally.. maybe prices can rally.. (probably not) but dont put it past me to try.. d8-)
Does this look worthy?
