DE
got it this spring for small grains. Loved it. First time I didn't mind harvesting down rye! Former head was 25' case ih 3020. Now I'm cutting double crop soybeans. This thing just plain sucks. Won't stop pushing. It will work fine for a while and if you're not watching it like a hawk it will push a pile of dirt, ingest it , plug up between auger and feeder chain. Yes I went through the float and wing balance as instructed in manual. There's a reason macdon has gone to a flexible cutterbar. Pushing a rigid bar (yes I know it's hinged) over a slight ridge especially if it's near the hinge is putting a lot of weight on a few skid shoes. I've tried tightening springs more and making wings lighter to the point it wants to float off the ground, then gradually backing springs off and making wings slightly heavier until it will stay on ground , nothing works. Have 4 john deere hydraflexes in the neck and they run non stop, never push and cut close and clean. Came real close to putting one on this red combine and may end up doing it.
