Subject: Why are we letting another country control the Strait of Hormuz

If we are so powerful, why isn't the navy in the Strait protecting oil shipments?

I saw an article that said China has a ship in the strait gathering intel and feeding it to Iran, but the US cant touch a Chinese vessel. So why do we allow Iran to control the Strait
