SW Saskatchewan | Season is over for the local girl we were following-after finishing first at The Calgary Macs and winning the league, they were beat out in the final by a newly re-vitalized Prince Albert team that will now play the Manitoba champion where the winner goes on to the first ever National Championship to be held later at Calgary.
The Swift Current Wildcats were blessed with a number of real stars but when they were injured in the playoffs, the team had less depth than needed.
Bright side of it is a local fellow who's daughter plays with Prince Albert took over the coaches duty for them early in March and was able to turn that team around. They are still building to a peak and should do well in the rest of the playoff season.
Mixed joy for their family, his daughter plays for Prince Albert but a niece was with the Wildcats.
Good hockey never the less.
