Subject: Monarch migration

West Texas

It's really cool, living in a major flyway for migrating birds and butterflies.

This year, a few Monarchs made an early and brief stopover, before another front blew them further south. Hope the main body of butterflies will make a stop here soon, and not just fly on past to the next clump of trees. Having a few Hackberry trees gives me an advantage, though, as Monarchs seem to favor Hackberries for their stopovers. Fussy little critters.
