I was a US Cellular customer. TMobile bought them and the switch happened 6/29/26. I had an unlimited plan with US Cellular and used my phone for hotspot. The phone hotspot out performed the internet service we had before so we cancelled the internet provider and used the phone hotspot for everything. We had 100 g of data/phoneline. If data exceeded 100 g then that phone data was throttled. The speed were in the range of 5g service though movies streamed at 720 as I recall.

After the switch speeds of my laptop chromebook using the hotspot went from 10 to .56. Anything using the phone hotspot was slow and it became impossible to stream movies, etc.

I have called t-mobile numerous times and been switched from billing representatives to tech people. After 8 calls I had a tech person tell me my tethering is throttled to 600kb. I am not a Tech person so these details do not explain why I am getting such lousy hotspot service.

When I access my plan on Tmobile website the details are sketchy at best and no one seems to be able to tell me what they are.

My current bill is the same as what I paid US Cellular when clearly I am not getting the service I had inspite of every billing person insisting I have the same plan as I did with US Cellular,

So far they want me to pay another $7/mth for 25g of high speed hotspot. Really?

Supposed to be getting a callback from a supervisor. Wish me luck!
